Chamelaucium uncinatum Purple Pride is an Australian native rounded shrub with masses of fine needle-like acicular leaves on branching stems. An abundance of bright purple waxy funnelform flowers with redish-brown centres appear during late winter and spring. An excellent addition to native gardens and is a fantastic cut flower specimen for indoor decorations. Prefers an open, sunny or partly shaded position and is able to grow in a wide range of free-draining soils. Purple Pride is tolerant of hot, dry conditions and has a low water requirement once established. After flowering prune appropriately to maintain shape. Apply a slow release native fertiliser during spring. Chamelaucium uncinatum Purple Pride will grow to a height of 2-3m and a width of 2-3m.
